Opera Hong Kong Launches ‘LKSF-OHK Young Artist Overseas Fellowships’
By David SalazarOpera Hong Kong is launching the first-ever “LKSF-OHK Young Artist Overseas Fellowships” program.
The program will be sponsored by the Li Ka Shing Foundation to provide short-term international residencies to young vocal artists.
Six singers will be selected to take on an overseas residency of three to five months, with each one receiving a sponsorship of HKD 100,000.
The judging panel includes Opera Hong Kong Artistic Director Dr. Warren Mok, Opera Hong Kong Chairman Mr. Ronald Kwok, soprano Ella Kiang, Emeritus Professor Victor Chan, and Professor Chan Wing Wah. Applications are open through April 30, 2024 with the announcement of the winners scheduled for June 2024.
“We are excited and grateful that LKSF shares our mission of nurturing local Hong Kong opera singers, and is joining forces together to provide funding support for OHK and other local talents,” Opera Hong Kong Chairman Ronald Kwok said in an official press statement.
