Opéra de Rouen Announces Cast Change for ‘Il Trovatore’

The Opéra de Rouen de Normandie has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore.”

The company announced that Jennifer Rowley will sing the role of Leonora replacing Brigitta Kele.

Rowley took to social media to announce the news stating, “I am thrilled to be jumping in to sing Leonora in Verdi’s ‘Il Trovatore’ at Opera de Rouen from September 24th – October 2nd. This weekend I will be jetting off to France to join this wonderful cast and company for rehearsals on Monday!! La vie est belle.”

Rowley has performed the role at the Metropolitan Opera and Opéra de Paris scoring rave reviews. OperaWire noted Rowley had “an incredible evening overall” and her “Leonora was a potent and confident woman.”

The soprano joins a cast that includes Lionel Lhote, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo, and Ivan Gyngazov. Pierre Bleuse conducts.
