Ópera De Paris To Present ‘Don Giovanni’ In Cinemas

The Opera National de Paris is set to present Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” live in cinemas.

The company is set to present the work on June 21 all over Europe and on June 23, 2019 through Feb 2, 2020 in encore presentations.

The new production by Ivo Van Hove is set to star Étienne Dupuis in the title role, Ain Anger as Commendatore, Jacquelyn Wagner as Donna Anna, Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Don Ottavio, Nicole Car as Donna Elvira, Philippe Sly as Leporello, Mikhail Timoshenko as Masetto, and Elsa Dreisig as Zerlina. Philippe Jordan conducts the production from the Palais Garnier.

The new production is a co-production with the Metropolitan Opera and opera will be presented in co-production with Bel Air, France 2, and FRA cinema. The opera runs July 13, 2019.
