By Francisco Salazar

The Opéra de Paris has canceled the second performance of “Manon” on Feb. 8, 2022.

The company announced that due to the identification of positive cases of COVID-19, it will not be able to present the opera. This is the latest performance that the Paris Opera cancels following the similar decisions on presentations of “Khovanshchina” and the opening night of “Manon.”

As a result, ticketholders will be able to exchange their tickets for another performance date of the opera, according to the availability, or will be able to get a refund.

The Feb. 8 performance was set to star Ailyn Pérez, Roberto Alagna, Jean Teitgen, Pierre Doyen, and Andrzej Filończyk with James Gaffigan conducting.

“Manon” will return to the stage on Feb. 11 and 17, 2022 with Pérez and Alagna. Later dates will star Atalla Ayan and Benjamin Bernheim alternating as Des Greiux.
