Opéra de Paris Announces Conductor Change for ‘The Exterminating Angel’

The Opéra de Paris has announced a conductor change for its production of “The Exterminating Angel.”

The company said that Courtney Lewis, who was due to conduct the last three performances of “The Exterminating Angel,” has withdrawn for personal reasons. As a result, he will be replaced by Robert Houssart for these performances scheduled for March 13, 17, and 23.

Houssartis, the Resident Conductor at the Royal Danish Opera, has conducted at La Monnaie, Brussels, ENO in London, Opera North, Teatro Colòn, and the Opéra-Comique, among others.He will conduct a cast that includes Jacquelyn Stucker, Gloria Tronel, Hilary Summers, Claudia Boyle, Christine Rice, Amina Edris, Nicky Spence, Frédéric Antoun, Jarrett Ott, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Filipe Manu, Philippe Sly, Paul Gay, Clive Bayley, Thomas Faulkner, Ilanah Lobel-Torres, Julien Henric, Nicholas Jones, Andres Cascante, Bethany Horak-Hallett, and Régis Mengus.

“The Exterminating Angel” will be performed from Feb. 29 to March 23 at Opéra Bastille.
