The Opéra de Paris has announced cast changes for “Don Giovanni.”

The company announced that Riccardo Fassi will sing the title role on Feb. 25 replacing Christian Van Horn. Additionally, Anett Fritsch will sing the role of Donna Elvira replacing Nicole Car.

Fassi has performed at the Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the Arena di Verona. Fritsch has performed at the Teatro Real de Madrid, Theater an der Wien, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Staatsoper Berlin.

Both stars will join a cast that includes Alexander Tsymbalyuk, Adela Zaharia, Pavel Petrov, Krzysztof Bączyk, Mikhail Timoshenko, and Anna El-Khashem. Bertrand de Billy conducts the production by Ivo van Hove.

Van Horn and Car return to the production on March 2. “Don Giovanni” runs through March 11, 2022.
