Opéra de Paris Announces Cast Change for ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’

The Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for its upcoming production of “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

The company noted that Angelika Kirchschlager withdrew from the production from the role of Marcellina. A as result Dorothea Röschman will perform the role.

Röschman is well-known for having performed numerous Mozart roles including Donna Elvira, Countess Almaviva, Ilia, Servilia, Nannetta, Pamina, Florinda, and Vitellia. She has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Salzburg Festival, La Monnaie, Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera.

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Peter Mattei, Maria Bengtsson, Miah Persson, Ying Fang, Ildebrando D’arcangelo, Lea Desandre, and James Creswell. Gustavo Dudamel conducts the production by Netia Jones.

“Le Nozze di Figaro” is set to open on Jan. 19 and run through Feb. 18, 2022.
