Opéra De Paris Announces Cast Change For ‘Il Barbiere Di Siviglia’

The Opéra National de Paris has announced a cast change for its upcoming revival of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

The company announced that Ilya Kutyukhin will take over performances from Jan. 22 through Feb. 12 in the title role replacing Andrzek Filończyk. 

Additionally, the company announced that Tommaso Barea will replace Davide Giangregorio in the role of Fiorello in all performances.  

Kutyukhin’s performances as Figaro will mark the baritone’s Opéra de Paris debut. He is currently in the ensemble of the Bolshoi Theater and has performed at the Sazburg Festival, Opéra de Toulon, Opéra de Nice, Opéra de Lille, Théâtre du Châtelet, and Glyndebourne Touring Opera.

Kutyukhin’s joins a cast that includes Lisette Oropesa, Xabier Anduaga, Carlo Lepore, and Krzysztof Bączyk. Carlo Montanaro conducts the production by Damiano Michieletto. “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” opens on Jan. 11 and runs through Feb. 12, 2020.
