Opéra de Paris Announces Cast Change for Cherubino in ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’

Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for “Le Nozze di Figaro”

The company noted that Lea Desandre has canceled the Jan 23 and 25, 2022 performances. As a result, the role of Cherubino will be performed by Chloé Briot.

Briot has performed at the Glyndebourne Festival, Opéra de Lyon, Opéra de Lille, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Théâtre de la Monnaie, Opéra Comique Paris and Paris Opera, where she made her debut in 2019.

The soprano joins a cast that includes Luca Pisaroni, Peter Mattei, Maria Bengtsson, Miah Persson, Ying Fang, Anna El-Khashem, and Dorothea Röschmann. Gustavo Dudamel conducts.

Desandre returns for the production from Jan. 27 through Feb. 18, 2022.

“Le Nozze di Figaro” is currently being performed at the Palais Garnier in a production by Netia Jones.
