Opéra de Monte Carlo to Stream ‘Thaïs’ on Culturebox
By David SalazarThe Opéra Monte Carlo is set to stream Massenet’s “Thaïs” on Feb. 23, 2021.
The opera, which will be transmitted on Culturebox and France.tv, stars Marina Rebeka in the famed titled role, Ludovic Tézier as Athanaël, Jean-François Borras as Nicias, Philippe Kahn as Palémon, Marie Gautrot as Albine, and Valentine Lemercier as Myrtale, among others.
The opera is presented in co-production with Vanishing Point and was directed by Gabriel Grinda. Jean-Yves Ossonce conducts.
The company has streamed previous productions of “Ernani,” “Don Giovanni, “Les Contes d’Hoffmann,” and “Tannhäuser.”
The Opéra de Monte Carlo is also currently presenting a live production of “Le Comte Ory,” which runs through February 25, 2021.
