Opéra de Monte Carlo Announces Schedule Changes for ‘Thais’

By Francisco Salazar

The Opéra de Monte Carlo has updated performance times for its upcoming “Thaïs” due to the new curfew imposed in Monaco.

In a statement, the company said, “due to the evolution of the health situation and recent decisions taken by the Prince’s Government there will be a curfew at 7 p.m. with no possible exceptions. As a result, the four ‘Thais’ presentations will be performed at 2 p.m.

Ticketholders will be contacted to confirm their presence or will be offered a refund or exchange for another performance.

“Thaïs” is set to open on Jan. 22 and will star Marina Rebeka, Ludovic Tezier and Jean-Francois Borras. Jean-Yves Ossonce conducts the first production by Jean-Louis Grinda.

The production runs through Jan. 28. The Monte Carlo Opera next presents a Bel Canto concert and a production of “Le Comte Ory.”
