Opéra de Massy Announces 2020-21 Season

The Opéra de Massy has announced its 2020-21 season featuring a number of productions and concerts.

Armando Noguera and Ludivine Gombert star in Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin.” The cast also includes Sarah Laulan, Kevin Amiel, and Denis Sedov. Kaspar Zehnder conducts the production by Alain Garichot.

Performance Dates: Nov. 6 & 8, 2020

Gilbert Amy’s “Le Premier Cercle scènes de la Charachka” will be led by conductor Julien Leroy in a production by Lukas Hemleb. The opera will star Franck Lopez, Marianne Croux, and Brenda Poupard.

Performance Dates: Nov. 21 & 22, 2020

Vladimir Fedoseyev conducts Dmitry Bertman’s production of Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades.” The production will star soloists and the chorus of the Helikon Opera with the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Massy

Performance Dates: Nov. 28 & 29, 2020

Laurent Cuniot’s “L’Enfant inouï” gets a performance in a production by Sylvain Maurice. Cuniot conducts the work with soloists Raphaële Kennedy, Anne-Cécile Cuniot, Étienne Lamaison, and Gianny Pizzolato.

Performance Date: Dec. 4, 2020

Stéphane Guignard directs “Jungle” with music by Jean-Christophe Feldhandlere starring Vivien Simon, Sylvain Manet, Clara Pertuy, and Halidou Nombre.

Performance Date: Feb. 5, 2021

Constantin Rouits conducts Puccini’s “Turandot” in a production by Gualtiero Ristori with soloists and chorus from the compagnie lyrique Opera 2001.

Performance Dates: March 4-7, 2021

Milan Otal, Ismaël Tifouche-Nieto, Joana Schweizer, and Vincent Trollet’s “Arianna” is set to be performed by soloists Noe Mercier, Marie Salvat, Charlotte Testu, and Omar J. Nicho.

Performance Date: March 26, 2021

Piazzolla’s “Maria de Buenos Aires” is conducted by Nicolás Agulló with Ana Karina Rossi taking on the title role. The work also stars Stefan Sbonnik, Alejandro Guyot, Federico Sanz, Carmela Delgado, and the Ballet from l’Opéra national du Rhin.

Performance Date: April 9, 2021

Dominique Rouits conducts Verdi’s “La Traviata” with Erminie Blondel, Raffaele Abete, and Simone del Savio. The production is directed by Oriol Tomas.

Performance Dates: May 7 & 9, 2021

Thomas Palmer conducts a new production of Massenet’s “Manon” by Claire Manjarrès.

Performance Dates: May 28, 2021

 

 

Concerts and Recitals 

Robert Tuohy conducts the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France in a program that includes Mahler’s Totenfeier, R. Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder, and Rachmaninov’s Danses symphoniques.

Performance Date: Nov. 14, 2020

Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas conducts Véronique Gens in a program of music by Lully, Pascal Collasse, Henry Desmarets, and Marc-Antoine Charpentier. The program will include the Chœurs Les Chantres du Centre de musique baroque de Versailles.

Performance Date: Dec. 1, 2020

Flore Philis, Alexandra Hewson, Aurélie Jarjaye, Marie Menand, and Céline Akçag star in a concert entitled DIVA with direction by Manon Savary.

Performance Date: Jan. 15, 2021

Pablo González conducts Prokofiev’s “Ivan the Terrible” with soloists Stéphane Varupenne, and Rachael Wilson.

Performance Date: Jan. 17, 2021

Hervé Niquet conducts the chorus and orchestra Le Concert Spirituel in a program of music by Mozart, Joseph and Michael Haydn.

Performance Date: March 28, 2021

Laurent Cuniot conducts Ypokosmos with soloists Gaëlle Méchaly, Paul-Alexandre Dubois Baryton, and chorus Amateurs d’Île-de-France.

Performance Date: April 13, 2021
