Opera de Lyon to Perform ‘L’incoronazione di Poppea’

The Opera de Lyon is set to present a production of Monteverdi’s “L’incoronazione di Poppea.”

The opera will be conducted by Simon-Pierre Bestion and directed by Tatjana Gürbaca.

Giulia Scopelliti will sign the title role, a singer from the 2022-2024 promotion of the Lyon Opéra Studio, alongside Iurii Iushkevich in the role of Nero. The other vocal parts are sung by the Lyon Opera Studio soloists and will be accompanied by the Lyon Opera Orchestra.

The work opens on June 15 and will run through June 28.
