Two French opera houses have announced reopening plans.

Strasbourg’s Opera du Rhin announced that it will reopen on Dec. 15 with a Beethoven chamber program celebrating the composer’s anniversary. It also announced that the new production of “Hänsel und Gretel” will open on Dec. 17.

Meanwhile, the Opéra de Lyon announced that the theater will reopen on Dec. 15 with a new production of “Béatrice et Bénédict,” conducted by Daniele Rustioni. The new production will be directed by Damian Michieletto. The production will star Michele Losier, Julien Behr, and Eve-Maud Hubeaux.

The news comes days after the Opera de Paris announced it was reopening. The company will reopen with “La Bohème,” as well as concerts by the Academy and Les Arts Florissants. There will also be a recital by Julie Fuchs and the Ballet School’s production of “Classes en scène.”
