The Opéra de Lyon in France announced it is launching an early September series entitled “Prelude.”

The series opens with Danser Encore featuring seven solos with 30 dancers.

Stefano Montanari conducts and performs Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. 

Performance Date: Sept. 20, 2020

Daniele Rustioni and Stéphane Degout team up to perform Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen and Schubert’s La Jeune Fille et la Mort.

Performance Date: Sept. 21, 2020

Chorus master Roberto Balistreri leads the Lyon chorus in a program that includes music by Barber, Tchaïkovsky, Rachmaninov, Lauridsen, Gjeilo, and Whitacre.

Performance Date: Sept. 27, 2020

Orchestra members will perform chamber music featuring music by Schubert, and Beethoven.

Performance Date: Sept. 29, 2020

Daniele Rustioni will conclude the series leading music by Mahler and Webern.

Performance Date: Oct. 4, 2020
