Ópera de Bellas Artes Announces 2021 Season

Mexico City’s Ópera de Bellas Artes has announced its 2021 season.

The season which takes place in the Palacio de las Bellas Artes reopened with a gala of operatic selections and will be followed by Graun’s “Montezuma.” “Montezuma” will feature a cast that includes Guadalupe Paz in the title role, Karen Gardeazábal, María Caballero, Akemi Endo, Arisbé de la Barrera, Jesús León, and Enrique Guzmán. Iván López Reynoso conducts the production by Ruby Tagle.

Performance Dates: Sept. 23-Oct. 3, 2021

The season will continue with Mozart’s rarely performed “Ascanio in Alba.” The full cast will be announced at a later date.

The season will conclude with Beethoven’s “Fidelio.” The full cast will be announced at a later date.
