The Opera Company of Middlebury is now streaming its video production of “Candide.”

The work stars Joshua Jeremiah as Pangloss, Quinn bernegger as Candide, Cree Carrico as Cunegonde, Blake Jennings as Maximilian, Heather Jones as Paquette, and Tara Curtis as the Old Lady. Other cast members include Joshua Collier, Kian Kreitas, Jim Douglas, Victoria Drew, Allison Steinmetz, Melissa Chesnut-Tangerman, Linda Radtke, Adam Hall, Camera Steinmetz, Mason Jarboe, and Neil Wacek.

In producing the work, the Vermont-based company not only employed traditional theatrical elements, but also embraced a number of unique audiovisual techniques including drones, green screens, and rear projects, among others.

Audiences can stream the Bernstein work through March 1, 2022.

Later in the season, the company will present Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” and Verdi’s “Don Carlo.”
