Opéra Comique To Stream ‘Titon et l’Aurore’

The Opéra Comique has announced that it will stream a production of Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville’s opera “Titon et l’Aurore.”

The opera was scheduled for five presentations from Jan. 18 – Jan. 27, 2021, but had to be canceled due to the French government’s COVID-19 regulations.

The opera will star Reinoud Van Mechelen, Gwendoline Blondeel, Julie Roset, Emmanuelle de Negri, Marc Mauillon, Renato Dolcini, Virginie Thomas, Maud Gnidzaz, and Juliette Perret. William Christie will conduct the production by Basil Twist. The performance will feature the Chœur et Orchestre Les Arts Florissants.

The presentation will be streamed live on Medici TV on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. CET. The broadcast will be available for viewing for three months on Medici TV after the initial broadcast date, and will also be streamed soon on MEZZO TV.
