Opéra Comique in Paris Reschedules ‘Hippolyte et Aricie’

The Opéra Comique in Paris has rescheduled the performance dates and times of Philippe Rameau’s opera “Hippolyte et Aricie,” in order to comply with the Presidential order regarding the overnight curfew in the next four weeks.

The production, which was originally slated to run between Nov. 12 and Dec. 12, 2020, will be redesigned to begin at 3. p.m. CET, and will run between Nov. 11 and Nov. 22, 2020.

The opera will star Reinoud van Mechelen, Elsa Benoit, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo, Stéphane Degout, Séraphine Cotrez, Nahuel di Pierro, Eugénie Lefebvre, Lea Desandre, Edwin Fardini, Constantin Goubet, Olivier Coiffet, and Virgile Ancely.

Raphaël Pichon will conduct the production by Jeanne Candel. The opera will also feature the Choeur Pygmalion.
