Opera Cecilia Announces Two Digital Programs

By David Salazar

Newly formed Opera Cecilia has announced two upcoming digital projects.

Per founder Taylor Gonzaga, the company will present an abridged film version of “Rusalka” as well as Gonzaga’s own solo work “Love Letters to the Arias I Fear,” featuring five iconic soprano arias.

“Love Letters to the Arias I Fear” will premiere on Feb. 25, 2023, while “Rusalka” is set to premiere in an abridged version on July 29, 2023 on Opera Cecilia’s official YouTube channel.

In addition to the digital projects, Opera Cecilia will present a Gala Concert in collaboration with the Columbia Gorge Orchestra Association on April 1 and 2, 2023. There will also be a podcast event, entitled “Through the Looking Glass Chapter Two: A Journey to Alloria” in May 2023.

In its second season, Opera Cecilia aims for presenting “opera in new and innovative ways and providing more lucrative opportunities for singers at the emerging artists level. We produce provocative projects including operatic art films and digital showcases, collaborations with other local ensembles in our area, and performances of under represented works,” Gonzaga told OperaWire.
