The Opera Buffs will be showcasing a performance that features soprano Brooke Iva Lohman and bass-baritone Derrell Acon.

The presentation is set for Oct. 20, 2019 at the home of Janet and Nick Ciriello in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. 

Lohman is a Southern California based soprano who has performed with such organizations as the Riverside Lyric Opera and Operazzi. With Riverside Lyric Opera, she has appeared in such works as “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” “La Bohème,” “La Traviata,” and “The Flowering Tree.”

Acon is represented by Couret & Werner Artist Management. He has performed with such organizations as the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, La Compagnia di BelCanto, Opera Ithaca, Heartbeat Opera, the Glimmerglass Festival, Semperoper Dresden, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Deutsches Theater München, Kölner Philharmonie, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Haifa Congress Center, Tel-Aviv Charles Bronfman Hall, and Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, among others. 

This is the first event of The Opera Buff’s new season with the intent of not only spotlighting these up and coming stars, but also offering the young singers in the audience a window into the ups and downs of an opera career. The performance will also celebrate Oktoberfest and attendees will get an opportunity to enjoy drinks and foods associated with the holiday.
