Opera Baltimore Names Three New Board Members

Opera Baltimore has announced the appointment of three new Board members.

The new appointees include media artist and researcher Lee Boot; Andrew Paul Feinberg, M.D, M.P.H.; and soprano Suzanne Woods.

They will serve three-year terms.

“On behalf of Opera Baltimore, I am thrilled to welcome Lee Boot, Andrew Feinberg, and Suzanne Woods to our board,” said Julia Cooke, Artistic and General Director, per an official press statement. “These experts and leaders in their fields bring a wealth of experience and perspective which will benefit the company. I look forward to working with them to build Opera Baltimore’s bright future.”

Woods has performed with such companies as Mobile Opera and Nevada Opera. Meanwhile, Feinberg discovered altered DNA methylation in cancer in the early 1980s and has come to be known as the founder of the field of cancer epigenetics. He is currently a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor in the Johns Hopkins University Schools of Medicine, Engineering and Public Health, holding the position of Director of the Center of Epigenetics. Finally, Boot is Director of the Imaging Research Center, and Affiliate Associate Professor of Visual Arts and Computer Science & Engineering at UMBC.
