The Play House at Geelong Arts Centre is set to present Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.”

The production will be showcased via Opera Australia which is expanding its 2024 mainstage offering beyond the capital cities.

Performed in English in a new translation by Michael Gow and Kate Gaul, “The Magic Flute” will star Indian-Australian tenor Shanul Sharma as Tamino, soprano Celeste Lazarenko as Pamina, and baritone Andrew Moran as Papageno.

Paul Fitzsimon will conduct the cast which will also include Esther Song, Jane Ede, Sian Sharp, Angela Hogan, Ruth Strutt, Jennifer Black, David Parkin, Benjamin Rasheed, Gregory Brown, and Nathan Lay.

“The Magic Flute” will open on Nov. 9 and run through Nov. 16, 2024.
