Opera Australia’s “Aida” will return to Sydney Harbour in 2027.

The production, which will be presented at Fleet Steps, is set to take the stage of  Mrs Macquaries Point from March 27 to April 25, 2027.

Gale Edwards directs the production, which premiered in 2015. Sets and costumes are designed by Mark Thompson with Matt Scott designing the lighting and Lucas Jervies choreographing the production. Sound design is by Tony David Cray.

“Bringing back this awe inspiring production of ‘Aida,’ the most successful opera we’ve ever staged on Sydney Harbour, marks the perfect opportunity to once again experience grand opera on the harbour at its most spectacular,” said Opera Australia CEO Alex Budd, per an official press release.

The production is supported by the New South Wales government through Destination NSW and by principal partner HSBC.
