By Francisco Salazar

Opera Australia and Opera Queensland have announced that they will co-present Davide Livermore’s critically acclaimed digital production of Verdi’s “Aida” alongside the Ring Cycle in 2020 at Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

The celebrated production conveys the scale, depth, and magnificence demanded by this monumental opera using the same integrated digital technologies as the upcoming Ring Cycle.

Opera Australia’s Artistic Director Lyndon Terracini noted, “Co-presenting this work with Opera Queensland has given us the opportunity to further showcase our digital development program to the people of Queensland, and we’re proud to have again assembled an amazingly talented cast of singers and musicians.”

The opera will star Natalie Aroyan in the title role, Elena Gabouri as Amneris, Diego Torre as Radames and Amartuvshin Enkhbat as Amonsaro. The cast will be rounded out by Roberto Scandiuzzi as Ramfis and Conal Coad as The King. Francesco Lanzillotta conducts the production.

Performances are set for Nov. 17 through Dec. 4, 2020.
