
Opera Arlington to Present Wizard of Oz-Inspired ‘The Magic Flute’ Production
By David SalazarOpera Arlington will present Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in a new production inspired by “The Wizard of Oz” on Sept. 25 and 26 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas.
Directed by Sienna Riehle and conducted by Christopher Leach, the production feature Shuyi Li and Megan Koch as Pamina, Cesar Augusto Vélez Gámez as Tamino, Taylor Fenner and Taylor Hendricks as the Queen of the Night, Heedo Park and Isaac Carlin as Papageno, and Jeffrey Tarr and Adeniyi Samuel as Sarastro.
Also featured are Rebecca Germany and Lara Lignitz as First Lady, Christen May Mayer and Hannah Park as Second Lady, Sarah Harvey and Basil Ceniseros as Third Lady, Emily Hansen and Ariel Juliette as Papagena, and Payton Fortner and Diego A. Roberts Buceta as Monastatos.
Jayda Ennis and Hadassah Misner will appear as First Spirit, Hanna Atsedewoin as Second Spirit, and Onyx Macklin and Sara Barkouras as Third Spirit.
Founded in 2022, Opera Arlington is a women-led arts organization based in Arlington that seeks to make opera accessible and affordable while providing paid performance opportunities for emerging professional musicians.
