OPERA America Unveils New Leadership

OPERA America has announced some major leadership changes.

First up, the organization revealed that Lee Anne Myslewski will be its new board chair. Myslewski, the vice president for opera and classical programming for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, has served as Vice chair of the Board of Directors since 2022. She takes over for Susan S. Marineau who stepped down to prioritize health needs. Myslewski’s tenure is set to continue through June 30, 2025. She joined the board in 2020.

Additionally, Jamelah Rimawi is the chief programs officer. She joined the organization in 2018 and will oversee numerous programs and services in support of new work development, among other goals. She will also oversee live and digital events, including the annual conference.

Finally, Megan Carpenter has been promoted to the position of senior manager of government affairs and civic practice. They joined OPERA America in 2021.
