Oper Leipzig Announces New Team

Oper Leipzig has announced that on August 1, 2022, Tobias Wolff will officially take over as Intendant. Wolff has also made a number of new appointments.

Wolff announced that Cornelia Preissinger will take over the position of Opera Director and Deputy Intendant while Christoph Gedschold will become the company’s new Music Director. Finally, Marlene Hahn will take the position of Head Dramaturg.

Wolff was named to the position of new intendant in Sept. 2019. He is a dramaturg, music journalist, and cultural manager and has served as Managing Director of the Göttingen International Handel Festival since 2011. He has also worked as Head Artistic Advisor and Marketing Director at the Theater Altenburg-Gera and has also been  Administrative Director.

Preissinger has been an opera director, artistic planner, and dramaturge at opera houses including the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Landestheater Linz, and the Staatstheater Kassel while Gedschold has been named Kapellmeister and répétiteur in 2002 at Theater Luzern. He has also conducted at the Semperoper Dresden, Oviedo Opera, Oper Frankfurt, Staatsoper Hamburg. Meanwhile Hahn has dramaturg at the Oper Graz and has also worked at the Augsburg Opera.
