Oper Frankfurt Announces Changes to 2020-21 Season

Oper Frankfurt has announced a number of changes for its 2020-21 season.

The company announced that “Fedora” will be replaced by a staged Tchaikovsky evening and concert performances of “Fedora.” The company will also replace “Aida” with Verdi’s “Luisa Miller” while Boris Godunov will be replaced by a new double bill of “Der Zar lässt sich fotografieren” and “Die Kluge.”

“Fedora” is set to star Olesya Golovneva, Andrea Carè, and Vladislav Sulimsky while “Luisa Miller” will feature Guanqun Yu, Stefano La Colla, and Gevorg Hakobyan. Meanwhile, the double-bill will be conducted by Sebastian Weigle and directed by Keith Warner.

Oper Frankfurt is currently closed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases throughout Germany. The company is set to reopen in December. Currently, Oper Frankfurt is live streaming live performances via its digital platform.
