On Site Opera to Encore Stream of ‘Morning Star’

On Site Opera in New York has added an additional live stream to its 4-part series of encore presentations.

The company, which has streamed past opera performances from its archives over the last month, will offer a watch party of its 2018 production of Ricky Ian Gordon and William Hoffman’s “Morning Star,” originally performed at the Museum at Eldridge Street housed at the historic 1887 Eldridge Synagogue.

The opera will be streamed on April 27, 2020 on the company’s website www.osopera.org and will also include a live Q&A with composer Ricky Ian Gordon, soprano Jennifer Zetlan, conductor Geoffrey McDonald, and director Eric Einhorn after the stream.

The performance stars Emily Pulley, Jennifer Zetlan, Cree Carrico, Blythe Gaissert, Joshua Jeremiah, Blake Friedman, Andrew Lovato, Chrystal E. Williams, Martin Bakari, David Langan, Allison Gish and Isabelle Freeman. Geoffrey McDonald conducts the production by Eric Einhorn.

On Site Opera recently streamed John Musto and Eric Einhorn’s “Rhoda and the Fossil Hunt,” Jean Phillippe Rameau and Ballot De Sauvot’s “Pygmalion,” Mozart’s “The Secret Gardener,” and Michi Wiancko and Deborah Brevoort’s “Murasaki’s Moon.”
