On Site Opera Adds 60 Performances of Telephone Opera
By David SalazarOn Site Opera has announced an additional 60 performances of its telephone-based opera ‘To My Distant Love.”
The first run of the new work was such a hit that the company sold out 100 scheduled performances. With continued demand for the experience, the company has added performances between July 16-August 9, 2020.
“Our goal with ‘To My Distant Love’ was to create a space for individuals to connect through live music in these isolating times,” said Eric Einhorn, General and Artistic Director of On-Site Opera in a press release. “Audiences have been transported by the unique, personalized nature of the performance, and we are thrilled to offer sixty more opportunities to connect with our singer/pianist duos.”
“To My Distant Love” provides audiences with a chance to hear Beethoven’s “An die ferne Geliebte” via telephone as performed by Jennifer Zetlan or baritone Mario Diaz-Moresco, joined by pianists David Shimoni or Spencer Myer.
