Olga Peretyatko, Sara Blanch & Enea Scala Lead Rossini Opera Festival’s 2023 Season
By Francisco SalazarThe Rossini Opera Festival has announced its 2023 season featuring three productions and concerts.
The first production of the season will be “Eduardo e Cristina” in a new production by Stefano Poda. Jader Bignamini conducts Enea Scala, Anastasia Bartoli, Daniela Barcellona, Grigory Shkarupa, and Matteo Roma.
Performance Dates: August 11-20, 2023
“Aureliano in Palmira” will be conducted by George Petrou in a revival production by Mario Martone. Alexey Tatarintsev, Sara Blanch, Raffaella Lupinacci, Marta Pluda, Sunnyboy Dladla, Davide Giangregorio, Alessandro Abis, and Elcin Adil.
Performance Dates: August 12-21, 2023
Varduhi Abrahamyan, Olga Peretyatko, Riccardo Fassi, René Barbera, Paola Leoci, Valery Makarov, and Alberto Robert star in “Adelaide di Borgogna.” Francesco Lanzillotta conducts a revival production by Arnaud Bernard.
Performance Dates: August 13-22, 2023
Festival Giovane will perform at the Teatro Sperimentale.
Performance Date: July 17, 2023
“Il Viaggio a Reims” will be conducted by Andrea Fotti in a production by Emilio Sagi. The production will star artists by the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda.”
Performance Dates: August 16 & 18, 2023
The Rossinimania Cantata in morte di M.F. Malibran will feature music by P.A. Coppola, G. Donizetti, S. Mercadante, G. Pacini, and N. Vaccaj. Diego Ceretta conducts a program that stars Lyaila Alamanova, Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Shachar Lavi, Dave Monaco, Giorgi Manoshvili and Michael Mofidian.
Performance Date: August 14, 2023
The festival will perform a Cantata in onore del Sommo Pontefice Pio IX. Christopher Franklin conducts soloists Pietro Adaini, Marina Monzo, Michael Mofidian, and Antonio Gares.

Concerti Lirico-Sinfonici
Rosa Feola will present a concert with Sesto Quatrini
Performance Date: August 17, 2023
Maria Kataeva will present a concert with Marco Mencoboni.
Performance Date: August 20, 2023
The festival is set to perform Concerti di Belcanto. The series opens with Teresa Iervolino.
Performance Date: August 19, 2023
René Barbera will also perform a concert.
Performance Date: August 21, 2023
Anastasia Bartoli will perform the final concert in the series.
Performance Date: August 22, 2023
Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle will be conducted by Michele Mariotti and will star Rosa Feola, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Dmitry Korchak, and Giorgio Manoshvili.
