Olesya Petrova Announces Recital at Weill Recital Hall This December

Mezzo-soprano Olesya Petrova will appear in recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Dec. 5, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.

She will be joined by pianist Francesco Barfoed in a performance presented courtesy of the Metropolitan Opera.

The first half of the program includes selections by Tchaikovsky including “Not a Word, My Friend,” “No, Only He Who Knew,” “To Forget So Soon,” “Lullaby,” “Reconciliation,” and “Serenade (Oh, Child, Beneath Your Window),”followed by Mahler’s “Erinnerung,” “Wo die schönen Trompeten blasen,” and “Nicht wiedersehen!”

After intermission, Petrova and Barfoed will perform a full set of Rachmaninoff songs, including “Oh, Never Sing to Me Again,” “In the Silence of the Secret Night,” “I Await You,” “A Dream,” “Christ is Risen,” “O, Do Not Grieve,” “I Fell in Love, to My Sorrow,” “How Painful for Me,” “I Am No Prophet,” and “Lilacs.”

Petrova has performed at The Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Arena di Verona, Teatro Real Madrid, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, and La Monnaie.
