Obituary: Tenor Mariano Spagnolo Has Died

Tenor Mariano Spagnolo has passed away.

Spagnolo was born on Sept. 4, 1974, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began studying piano at a young age. He went on to the Carlos Lopez Buchardo National Conservatory in Buenos Aires, where he studied both piano and voice. Spagnolo also studied at Teatro Colón Theatre Academy University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, and Mirella Freni at the Cubec Foundation in Modena, Italy.

Throughout his career Spagnolo performed with the Munich Academic Symphony Orchestra, Young Ensemble Munich, Teatro Avenida, and more. In 2014, Spagnolo performed the title role in Offenbach’s “Les contes d’Hoffmann” with André Dos Santos conducting.

Spagnolo can be heard on the recording of  Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s “Wax Figure Cabinet,” under the direction of Philipp Vogler.
