
Obituary: Soprano Denise Dupleix Dies at 97

Per Forum Opera, soprano was born on August 1, 1927, studied at Tours Conservatory at the age of six, and at 17, was cast in a radio interview and received acclaim for her performance of “Salut à la France.”
She went on to study at the CNS in Paris and was later hired to perform at the Opéra-Comique. From there, she performed at many of the great theaters in the world, including the Paris Opera. After retiring from the stage, she went on to teach.
Dupleix received major prizes for her outstanding career, including being named Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters.
