On May 7, 2020, the New York Philharmonic will be live streaming a concert performance from 1997 featuring superstar soprano Renée Fleming.

The performance, which was conducted by Kurt Masur, will feature Mozart’s “Exsultate,” R. Strauss’ “Three Orchestral Songs (Mutterändelei, Waldseligkeit, and Cäcile).”

The original concert took place on Sept. 17, 1997 and was the opening night event for the 1997-98 season. The broadcast will also feature a recently recorded interview between Ms. Fleming and Alec Baldwin. The video will be made available for repeat viewings on-demand afterward.

This stream is the latest of several that the company has presented since the lockdown.

Additionally, the New York Philharmonic has launched its We are the NY Phil @ Home series which features performance videos from several of the orchestra’s musicians. The organization also has several performance videos available for viewing on its website as part of its “NY Phil Plays On” service.

The concert stream can be viewed starting at 7:30 p.m. on the company’s official Facebook page.
