
Nola Richardson, Lauren Snouffer, Karim Sulayman, Erica Schuller Headlines Ars Lyrica Houston’s 2025-26 Season

It starts with “Bach’s Divine Comedy” featuring such works as “Fürchte dich nicht” BWV 228 and “The Dispute between Phoebus & Pan” BWV 201. Hannah DePriest, Andréa Walker, Jay Carter, Michael Skarke, Matthew Newhouse, Thomas O’Neill, Tom Meglioranza, and Timothy Jones are the vocal soloists.
Performance Date: Sept. 19, 2025
“Love Untamed” will be headlined by Erin Wagner and features works by Telemann, Whit, Rieti, and Haydn.
Performance Date: Oct. 25, 2025
Erica Schuller, Michael Skarke, Thomas O’Neill, and Tzvi Bat Asherah will headline “The Watchmen’s Song” with organist Matthew Dirst.
Performance Date: Dec. 2, 2025
Soprano Nola Richardson headlines “Fatal Attractions,” which includes Cleerambault’s “Léandre et Héro” as well as Rameau’s “Orphée.”
Performance Date: Feb. 14, 2026
Lauren Snouffer, Douglas Williams, and Cecelia McKinley headline “Aci, Galatea e Polifemo.”
Performance Date: March 14, 2026
Closing out the season is Catherine Turocy’s production of Monteverdi’s “Orfeo” starring Karim Sulayman, Amia Langer, Cecilia Duarte, Enrico Lagasca, and Tzvi Bat Asherah. Matthew Dirst conducts.
