Nino Machaidze & Claudia Pavone Headline Teatro dell’Opera di Roma’s ‘La Traviata’ Concert Performances

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has announced that due to the state of emergency, the company will present Verdi’s “La Traviata” in concert form.

The concert production will showcase costumes by Valentino that was created by Maria Grazia Chiuri e Pier Paolo Piccioli in collaboration with the Teatro dell’Opera.

Paolo Arrivabeni will conduct the Orchestra e il Coro dell’Opera di Roma with Nino Machaidze and Claudia Pavone alternating the role of Violetta Valery. The cast will also include Sergey Romanovsky and Alessandro Scotto Di Luzio as Alfredo Germont and Marco Caria and Simone Del Savio as Giorgio Germont.

The opera will open on Nov. 4 through 8, 2020. Audiences will enter the Teatro Costanzi in accordance to their seating.

Reported COVID-19 cases in Italy increased by 7,332 on Oct. 14, 2020, more than any other day since the pandemic started to spread in March 2020. The previous peak had been an increase of 6,552 reported cases on March 21, 2020.
