On May 20, 2020, Nina Stemme joins the Royal Stockholm Orchestra and Alan Gilbert for a concert.

Stemme will perform Wagner’s “Wesendonck Lieder” in a program that will also include Schubert’s ”Unfinished” symphony and Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.”

Gilbert will lead the concert, which will be livestreamed from the Konserthuset Stockholm on the theater’s official website.

This summer Stemme was expected to perform in a production of “Elektra” at the Royal Opera House and “Bluebeard’s Castle” at the Bayerische Staatsoper. However, the performances were canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. Swedish time and ends at 8:10.

The concert is among a series of events that are being livestreamed without an audience.  Wigmore Hall recently announced that it will feature a series of concerts without an audience.
