Houston Grand Opera is set to present “Giving Voice” for the third straight year.

The showcase, which was created by tenor Lawrence Brownlee back in 2020, will feature Nicole Heaston alongside Blake Denson, Sun-Ly Pierce, William Guanbo Su, Peixin Chen,  Key’mon W. Murrah, Ryan Speedo Green, and pianists Kevin J. Miller and Bin Yu Sanford. The program will include arias, spirituals, Broadway hits, and Mongolian folk songs, among other pieces. Heaston will also host the event.

The first edition of “Giving Voice” spotlighted Black opera stars and was sold out. The second showcase, in 2021, was live streamed as part of the company’s first digital season.

This year’s event is set for March 19, 2022. Audiences can stream the event via the company’s official website through April 18, 2022.
