Nicole Cabell, Morris Robinson Headline Cincinnati Opera 100th Anniversary Documentary

CET is airing “Cincinnati Opera at 100,” an hour-long televised program commemorating Cincinnati Opera’s centennial.

The program will feature will include historical commentary by opera experts and performances by much-loved singers from recent Cincinnati Opera productions.

Performances take place from the artists’ homes as well as iconic locations throughout the city, including the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Cincinnati Music Hall, and other surprise venues. The program will feature such artists as Nicole Cabell, Morris Robinson, and Stephen Costello, among others.

Cincinnati Opera is the nation’s second-oldest opera company, which presented its first performance on June 27, 1920, at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden. The company’s 100th Anniversary Season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The company is currently presenting radio broadcasts, virtual events, and at home recitals.

The program airs on July 3 on CET and will be encored throughout the week.
