Nicola Beller Carbone Leads Bilbao Opera’s Double Bill ‘La voix humaine’ & ‘Eine florentinische tragödie’

The Bilbao Opera is set to present a double bill of “La voix humaine” and “Eine florentinische tragödie.”

Nicola Beller Carbone will sing the roles of Elle in “La voix humaine” and Bianca in Zemlinsky’s work. Carbone is well known for her work in the German repertoire and will make her role debut in the Zemlinsky work.

She will be joined by Giorgio Berrugi who makes his role debut as Guido and Carsten Wittmoser who takes on the role of Simone. Berrugi has performed Modena, Stuttgart, and Barcelona and is set to perform later this season in Torino, Viena, and Frankfurt. Meanwhile, Wittmoser is well known in Mexico and is set to perform at the Metropolitan Opera and Erl Festival in Austria.

Pedro Halffter conducts the production by Paco Azorín, which originally premiered at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Teatros del Canal.

The double bill is set to open on Feb. 17, 2022 ad will run through Feb. 28, 2021.
