Nicholas Phan, Amanda Majeski, Rihab Chaieb, Olivia Boen, Travon D. Walker Headline Art Song Chicago’s 2026-27 Season

Art Song Chicago has unveiled its 16th season.

The 2026 Collaborative Works Festival: “Songs of the Earth” opens with “The Secret Garden,” featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, Rachmaninov, Margaret Bonds, and Harry Burleigh.

Performance Date: Sept. 23, 2026


The festival concludes with “Gods of the Earth,” featuring the Midwest premiere of Vivian Fung’s “Lamenting Earth” for tenor, piano, and string quartet, performed by Nicholas Phan with the Jasper String Quartet. The program also includes works spanning Monteverdi to Mahler. Soprano Raquel González, mezzo-soprano Zoie Reams, soprano Rachel Blaustein, mezzo-soprano Alexis Peart, and baritones Evan Bravos and Leroy Davis also appear.

Performance Date: Sept. 26, 2026


2026-27 Lieder Lounge Series

Soprano Olivia Boen makes her Art Song Chicago debut alongside horn player Jon Boen, violinist Laura Miller, and pianist Craig Terry.

Performance Date: Nov. 16, 2026


Mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb and pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz make their Art Song Chicago debuts.

Performance Date: Feb. 22, 2027


Soprano Amanda Majeski returns to Art Song Chicago alongside debuting pianist Alan Darling.

Performance Date: April 6, 2027


Tenor Travon D. Walker and pianist Michael Banwarth close the series with the world premiere of a song cycle co-composed by the duo.

Performance Date: May 21, 2027
