Nicholas Mogg has been awarded the 2025 Dr. Wilhelm Oberdörffer Prize.

The baritone was given the accolade during an event hosted by the Staatsoper Hamburg on April 12, 2025.

Mogg has been a member of the Staatsoper Hamburg Ensemble since 2022 and was previously a member of the International Opera Studio. He has performed with organizations as Barbican Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Palau de la Música Catalana, Bozar Brussels, KKL Luzern, and the Philharmonie de Paris.

“I am enormously grateful to receive the Dr.-Wilhelm-Oberdörffer-Preis from my artistic home – Staatsoper Hamburg,” Mogg told OperaWire. “It is the perfect environment for an artist to develop and since joining the company, I have learned so much about the industry as a whole and what it is to be a singer today. A huge thank you to all of my colleagues and I look forward to the rest of this season and beyond!”

The Dr. Wilhelm Oberdörffer Prize is an annual award given to young, emerging classical and musical theatre talents. It is awarded by the Foundation for the Promotion of the Hamburg State Opera (Stiftung zur Förderung der Hamburgischen Staatsoper).
