Nicholas Brownlee, Sinéad Campbell-Wallace, Amanda Woodbury Lead Irish National Opera’s 2023-24 Season

The Irish National Opera has announced its 2023-24 season.

Éna Brennan’s “Breathwork” will star Andrew Gavin, Michelle O’Rourke, and Kelli-Ann Masterson. John McIlduff directs.

Performance Dates: Sept. 28-30, 2023

Duke Kim sings the title role of Gounod’s “Faust” alongside Nicholas Brownlee, Jennifer Davis, Gyula Nagy, Mark Nathan, and Gemma Ní Bhriain. Elaine Kelly conducts the production by Jack Furness.

Performance Dates: Oct. 1-7, 2023

Celine Byrne leads Puccini’s “La Bohème” with Sarah Brady, Merūnas Vitulskis, Iurii Samoilov, Gyula Nagy, and Lukas Jakobski. Sergio Alapont conducts the production by Orpha Phelan.

Performance Dates: Nov. 20-26, 2023

Sinéad Campbell-Wallace leads Strauss’ “Salome” alongside Vincent Wolfsteiner, Imelda Drumm, Tómas Tómasson, and Alex McKissick. Fergus Sheil conducts
Bruno Ravella’s production.

Performance Dates: March 3-16, 2024

Peter Whelan conducts Vivadi’s “L’Olimpiade” with a cast that includes Gemma Ní Bhriain, Meili Li, Alexandra Urquiola, Sarah Richmond, Chuma Sijeqa, Rachel Redmond, and Benjamin Russell. Daisy Evans directs.

Performance Dates: April 20-June 1, 2024

The season concludes with Verdi’s “La Traviata featuring Amanda Woodbury and Máire Flavin in the lead role. The cast also includes Mario Chang, Brett Polegato, and Anthony Clark Evans. Killian Farrell and Fergus Sheil conduct the production by Olivia Fuchs.

Performance Date: May 17-31, 2023
