Niamh O’Sullivan & Paula Murrihy Headline Blackwater Valley Opera Festival 2025

Blackwater Valley Opera Festival has announced its the line up for its 2025 season.
From May 26 to June 2, the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival will present opera productions, concerts, educational events, and more. In total there will be 23 events and concerts held in 12 historic venues across the Blackwater Valley.
Benjamin Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed with the Irish Chamber Orchestra conducted by David Brophy on the grounds of Lismore Castle. Tony Award-winner Patrick Mason directs. Mezzo-soprano Paula Murrihy will star in Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Nicholas McGegan conducts the Irish Baroque Orchestra at St Carthage’s Cathedral.
Mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan is schedule to present the concert entitled, “When Birds Do Sing.” Paula Murrihy returns to perform in the concert, “Baroque Hits,” with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas McGegan.
Tickets go on sale in Feb. More details will be released at a later date.
