By Francisco Salazar

Poland’s NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra has announced that musician Alexander Sitkovetsky will become Artistic Director of the ensemble from the 2023-24 season.

The British Violinist, a Graduate of the famed Yehudi Menuhin School, The Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Kronberg Academy, is in demand worldwide as a soloist, orchestra director, and chamber musician.

In a statement, Sitkovetsky said, “I am very proud to have been chosen as the new Artistic Director of the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra. I am grateful to NFM Director Andrzej Kosendiak, the Orchestra Manager Agata Adamczyk, and this wonderful group of musicians for entrusting me with this responsibility. As we move towards the 50th Anniversary of this storied Ensemble, I am honoured to have the opportunity to take on the mantle of my esteemed predecessors and guide the Orchestra into the future. We can’t wait to share the passion and quality of our performances with audiences in Wroclaw, Poland, and around the world.”

Outgoing Artistic Director Joseph Swensen will continue to cooperate with the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra as Principal Guest Conductor.
