New York Festival of Song Unveils 2022-23 Season

The New York Festival of Song has announced its 2022-23 season.

The season will kick off with “Heroes” at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center. The showcase will feature mezzo-soprano Kara Gudan and John Brancy alongside musicians Peter Dugan, Charles Yang, and Steven Blier. They will perform music by Schubert, Gluck, Bob Dylan, and Stevie Wonder.

Performance Date: Sept. 28, 2022 

Sari Gruber, Naomi O’Connell, Justin Austin, and pianist Steven Blier will present “Kabarett,” which features music by Hollaender, Spolansky, Bienert, and Tucholsky, among others.

Performance Date: Nov. 16, 2022

“Amor,” which will include a program of music by Piazzolla, Kurt Weill, Fauré, and Fats Waller, among others, will star Lucia Bradford, Kate Lindsey, and Federico De Michelis. Steven Blier accompanies at the piano.

Performance Date: Feb. 15, 2023

The season draws to a close with “Mediterranean” which will feature the 2023 Schwab Vocal Rising Stars including Soprano Shelén Hughes, mezzo-soprano Maggie Reneé, tenor Colin Aikins, bass-baritone Joseph Parrish, and Pianist Yihao Zhou. They will be accompanied by Steven Blier and Bénédicte Jourdois. The performance will feature music from or inspired by Spain, Italy, France, Tunisia, Lebanon, Greece, Egypt, and Israel.
