New York City Opera & Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Team Up for ‘Starry Night Classics’

The New York City Opera has announced that it will team up with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra to present “Starry Night Classics” on August 15, 2020.

The concert, which will take place at The Freeman Stage in Fenwick Island, DE will feature excerpts from such operatic classics as “Carmen,” “Faust,” “Rigoletto,” “La Bohème,” and “Turandot,” among others.

The event will be conducted by Maestro Julien Benichou and will be hosted by Michael Capasso, General Director of the New York City Opera. Among the artists performing will be soprano Kristin Sampson, mezzo-soprano Lisa Chavez, tenor Michael Butler, and bass-baritone Kevin Short. Violinist Kurt Nikkanen will also solo in the concert.

Audience members can purchase tickets in “pods” of four people to enable proper social distancing protocols.
