
New York City Opera Heads to Carnegie Hall with ‘Music of Survival’
By David SalazarThe New York City Opera is set to present “Music of Survival: Works by Weinberg, Korngold, and Rovner.”
Set for Feb. 24, 2025, at Carnegie Hall, the showcase will feature the New York City Opera Orchestra as it presents music by composers who were neglected as a result of the Holocaust and its aftermath. At the core of the performance will be the American premiere of the Symphony Metamorphosis by Rovner, featuring soprano Elizabeta Ulakhovich.
Also on the program are cello concertos by Weinberg and Korngold. Kristina Reiko Cooper is the cello soloist in the concert.
Constantine Orbelian conducts the performance.
